Our story.

Sam Maranto, born in 1926, and son of first generation Italian immigrants from Cefalu, Sicily, is considered to be one of the fathers of Italian American Cuisine. In 1948, Sam opened an Italian Restaurant celebrating authentic favorites.

It was important that Sam’s menu items were not only delicious, but also approachable to his neighbors and friends who came from all walks of life.

This American institution still stands today after over 70 years in business. At S. Maranto’s, we are guided by Sam’s “no frills” values style- the best ingredients create the best food, and a meal is never complete without good company.
